Anya


Hannah (formerly Anya) came to us in mid January after the Paw'd Squad found her roaming the streets. She was severely emaciated, weighing only 20 pounds, and suffering from severe canine acne due to stress. She has acclimated well to her new surroundings and made fast friends of her two cat sisters. Hannah has brought her two new mommies such joy and great pleasure. She is still fearful of strangers, but considering her early years and the abuse she suffered as a puppy, we are giving her lots of latitude and many treats. She has gained nearly 30 pounds since her rescue and her coat and skin is healthy and shiny. But the scars on her head are still visible from the "owner" who burned her head with a cigarette and abandoned her. On some level we are grateful that her former owner did not appreciate her special qualities because now she is in our lives and we can't imagine our home without her.
