ay has had quite a journey. We first found out about him through a Rottie "chat room". The Humane Society in Akron, Ohio had a blind, burnt Rottie pup that needed a home desperately. How could we resist? BUT how could we get him to Los Angeles? Well, never underestimate the hearts of our volunteers and their friends and family. The Mom of a friend of one of our volunteers pulled Ray from the shelter and met the Mom of another one of our volunteers in Cleveland. From there he was driven to Akron where he spent 2 weeks recuperating from being a shelter pup. Then our volunteer flew to Ohio, visited her Mom and Aunt (who also helped to foster this guy) and flew him back to Los Angeles. We would also really like to thank Northwest Airlines for accomodating Ray and planning his trip back to L.A. so he would not have to spend much time on the ground in airports. Ray is completely blind. He may have some light sensitivity but for all intents and purposes, he cannot see. He is extremely smart and mapped out his L.A. foster home in his head in a day. He gets along with other dogs, is learning that a crate is a good thing and WOW....we are just so impressed with him. The burns on his back are healing nicely. Ray is a great puppy. Being blind doesn't really bother him....it shouldn't bother anyone else!
